Symcel will sponsor and co-host a workshop at the Montana Biofilm Science & Technology Meeting hosted by the Center for Biofilm Engineering (CBE) at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
CBE is internationally recognized for advancing biofilm science and applied testing applications. This year’s meeting, themed “Challenging Assumptions, Discovering Opportunity,” will take place July 15–17 and brings together industry professionals, researchers, and technology developers focused on translating biofilm science into practical industrial applications.
Pre-conference Workshop
The event further expands our collaboration with CBE, and as part of the meeting, Symcel will co-host a workshop on July 14 at the CBE labs on the MSU campus focused on the industrial applications of biocalorimetry-based methods for biofilm testing and research.
Participants will learn how biocalorimetry provides direct measurement of viable microbial activity in biofilms, even in complex samples and on challenging surfaces. Applications highlighted include contamination detection, multispecies detection, preservative and antimicrobial evaluation, monitoring biofilm regrowth, optimization of clean in place strategies, and product development workflows where early biological insights can accelerate decision-making and reduce risk.
The topics covered in the workshop are highly relevant for professionals working in industrial processing, hospital disinfection, premise plumbing, medical device development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food safety, and disinfection product development.
