The caloTrace® is Symcel’s most flexible biocalorimetry platform, designed to turn real-time metabolic monitoring into a powerful solution for microbial QC testing, cell research, and product development across a wide range of applications. It combines ease of use with flexible sample volumes and exceptional measurement sensitivity. Samples can be incubated at temperatures between 20 °C and 40 °C across 30 independently loaded measurement channels.

Continuous monitoring provides immediate notification of microbial presence, often within only a few hours, combined with automatic pass/fail results at the end of the test.

calScreener+ Sterility

GROWTH-BASED STERILITY TESTING OF ADVANCED THERAPIES AND PHARMACEUTICALS IN UNDER 3 DAYS

Based on highly sensitive isothermal microcalorimetry, the calScreener+ Sterility System combines speed and reliability for sterility testing of cell and gene therapies, biologics, and other ATMPs. It combines alignment with compendial sterility testing methods through dual-temperature testing in standard TSB and FTM media with direct inoculation workflow and accelerated non-destructive growth-based detection of viable microorganisms. The system is inherently flexible in sample handling and can analyze complex cell-based products without filtration or other preparation steps.

Continuous monitoring provides immediate alerts of microbial contamination, often within only a few hours. Using metabolic heat flow-based detection, the system can detect slow-growing organisms such as C. acnes in less than 60 hours at 5 CFU, enabling sterility testing timelines to be reduced from the traditional 14-day compendial method to under 3 days.

CONTROL, ANALYZE, REPORT

The calView® software is Symcel's dedicated platform for control, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting for the calScreener® and caloTrace® systems. Designed for both quality control and research applications, it provides tools for data interpretation and visualization of continuous thermogram curves for each measurement.

The software includes a sterility testing module for dual-temperature measurements aligned with pharmacopeial testing methods. It provides clear automated positive/negative result interpretation and consolidated reporting. An optional 21 CFR Part 11 module supports compliance through user authentication, audit trails, electronic signatures, and data integrity features.
